What this is
NextKey is a prototype, built during ETHGlobal ETHOnline 2026 and running against an ENSv2 beta deployment on the Sepolia test network. Test networks carry no monetary value.
NextKey is not a bank, not a custodian and not a financial service. It holds no keys, no funds and no accounts, and it cannot move anything on your behalf. The pages are static files and the cryptography runs in your browser — no server of ours ever sees a secret, a private key or a plaintext.
We do run one server, and it is named rather than glossed over: a read-only API at api.nextkey.li, for callers with no Ethereum node of their own. It reads public records and returns them. It holds no key, signs nothing, writes nothing and is never shown a plaintext, and nothing on this site depends on it — the pages and the command line read the chain directly. What using it reveals is in the privacy notice.
Liability
The software is published under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later and is provided without any warranty, to the extent permitted by law. It has not been audited. Do not entrust it with a secret whose loss you could not bear.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator accepts no liability for damage arising from the use of this site or of the software, in particular for loss of keys, loss of access to a secret, or actions taken by a wallet, a network or a third-party service. Nothing here is legal, financial or tax advice.
Donations to the address on the donation page are voluntary gifts, made on a public blockchain. They buy nothing, entitle to nothing, and cannot be reversed or refunded.

This site links to pages operated by others — among them the ENS, Chainlink and Ledger projects, GitHub, Etherscan and public blockchain nodes. Those pages are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, their availability or their handling of your data, and a link is not an endorsement.
Licence and trademarks
The source code is licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later and may be read, run, modified and forked on those terms. The licence covers the code; it does not cover names, logos or domains.
The name NextKey, the NextKey mark and the domain nextkey.li are not licensed. ENS, Chainlink and Ledger are trademarks of their respective owners; they appear here as references to the technologies this prototype was built against, and they imply no partnership, sponsorship or endorsement.
Applicable law
Swiss law applies, to the extent permitted. Place of jurisdiction is St. Gallen, Switzerland, subject to mandatory statutory provisions — including those that give consumers the courts of their own domicile.
